Surrogate Nursers Needed!
January 23, 2021
We DON’T always have an available nursing mother onboard when orphaned newborns arrive. Surrogate nursers are an alternative to bottle feeding the orphaned kittens. They allow small orphaned babies to nurse in the most natural way, when a surrogate mama cat is not available. Wholeful Pet makes a selection of innovative surrogate nursers, and they would be very helpful to have at C.A.T.S.
Please help C.A.T.S. obtain a Surrogate Nurser by visiting our fundraising campaign at:

About Us
Our Mission is to trap, neuter, vaccinate and return (TNVR) feral cats within the community.
- We provide educational resources on spay/neuter and behavioral issues of un-neutered pets.
- We offer low cost spay/neuter certificates to the community.
- We facilitate the fostering, socializing, adoption, spay/neuter and vaccinations of viable kittens from within the feral colonies.
What We Do
Our main goal is to promote good health and end the cycle of street reproduction through TNVR (trap/neuter/vaccinate/return) with recuperation after spay/neuter. We strive to place kittens into approved foster homes while awaiting adoption placement. We prioritize pregnant cats and viable kittens for socializing, fostering and adoption.
History
I have finally realized in my golden years, what I want to be when I grow up…. I have always had a desire to be a veterinarian, a pediatrician or a CPA. I spent 14 years with a medical records company as a warehouse manager, mothered four children, raised and saved many animals and spent 26 years in the medical field as a receptionist, a coder, billing manager, accountant and practice administrator….
I am currently self-employed as an insurance consultant at MONIMIZR which affords me the time and flexibility to follow my passion……of assisting cats!
I spent my days collecting various critters just to observe them and saving bugs from drowning in a swimming pool just so I could set them free in a safe location. I remember my first rescue vaguely. I was around the age of ten years old, living along an apple orchard. I kept hearing this odd sound, thinking it was a bird, I dismissed it for a day or two. On the third day it occurred to me that it was some type of a distress call and I went looking to solve the crisis. I zoned in on the loud echoing and what I found was an itty bitty kitten in a 55 gallon drum with several inches of water in it, soaked, shivering and crying. I lowered myself into that barrel without hesitation, scooped that baby up and ran home with it! Yes, she lived, and we loved her… Dinker was her name.
The second rescue that I recall which had an impact of me was a tiny two day old calico kitten found behind a department store. I was a senior in High School and the vet assured me that the kitten wouldn’t survive without its mother. I refused to believe him and read every book I could find on kitten care and raised that beauty for 14 years……Her name was Baby Kitty. So, after 14 years of volunteering through various groups (AWAN, AEF, WFCP, UCSPCA) and in Baby Kitty’s honor, I have decided it is time for me to move forward and follow my passion. I have started a well needed cat rescue 501(c)3. C.A.T.S. Cast Aside To Survive has joined the many local networks in effort to help the voiceless, abandoned and neglected to get the justice and assistance they so deserve! I hope that one day, there will be better laws and more resources to protect ALL the critters! Our logo picture is her!!
As we say in this line of work….PAWS crossed!
